FAQ: Can I Transfer My Account or Data to Another TitanX account?

Updated over 3 months ago

Can I transfer my data to a new account if I change companies?

No. TitanX accounts are associated with the organization they were created for, not individual users. The organization owns all data within the account, not the individual users who may have access to it. When you leave an organization, the data remains with that organization's account.

This policy is aligned with our SOC2 compliance requirements for data security and confidentiality, as well as GDPR regulations regarding organizational data ownership and transfer restrictions.

What if I was the one who created the account?

Even if you personally set up the account, if it was created for an organization (company, agency, etc.), the account and its data belong to that organization, not to you as an individual. Under SOC2 and GDPR compliance frameworks, we maintain clear data ownership boundaries between organizations to ensure proper data governance.

Can TitanX change the company name on my account?

No. We cannot change the company name associated with an account. The account is tied to the specific organization it was created for, and changing the company name would effectively transfer ownership, which goes against our policies and compliance requirements under both SOC2 and GDPR.

What are my options if I leave my company and want to use TitanX at my new company?

You have two options:

  1. Create a new account for your new organization (starting fresh with no historical data)

  2. Have your new organization reach out to your previous organization to request any data transfer arrangements directly between the companies

Why is this policy in place?

This policy protects both organizations and TitanX:

  • It prevents unauthorized transfer of potentially sensitive business data

  • It respects the contractual relationship between TitanX and the organization

  • It ensures clear ownership of data and account access

  • It prevents potential security and compliance issues

  • It maintains our SOC2 certification by upholding the confidentiality principle

  • It ensures GDPR compliance by preventing unauthorized data transfers

What about my personal data rights under GDPR?

Under GDPR, you have rights regarding your own personal data (such as your user profile information). However, business data created while working for an organization belongs to that organization, not to you personally. TitanX distinguishes between:

  1. Your personal user data - which you can access, correct, or delete

  2. Organizational business data - which belongs to the company you worked for

This distinction is important for maintaining GDPR compliance while respecting organizational data ownership.

What if I'm a consultant working with multiple clients?

If you're a consultant working with multiple clients, each client should have their own separate TitanX account. We cannot modify company names on invoices or accounts to represent different client relationships, as our direct business relationship is with your consulting company, not your end clients.

Our SOC2 and GDPR compliance frameworks require us to maintain clear separation between different organizations' data and to document appropriate data transfer mechanisms when data is shared.

Can I add users from a different organization to my account?

You can add users to your account at your discretion, but remember that those users will have access to your organization's data. We recommend only adding users who are authorized by your organization to access your data.

Under SOC2 compliance, we maintain access controls and audit logs of who has accessed data. Under GDPR, you (as the data controller) are responsible for ensuring proper authorization for data access within your organization.

I'm moving to a new email domain. Can I keep my account?

If you're still with the same company but changing email domains (e.g., due to a rebrand), please contact support with documentation of the company name change. In these specific cases, we may be able to update email domains while maintaining the same account.

We require proper documentation to comply with SOC2 audit requirements and GDPR provisions for maintaining accurate records of data controllers.

How does TitanX protect my data under SOC2 and GDPR?

As a SOC2 and GDPR compliant platform, TitanX implements:

  • Strict access controls to prevent unauthorized data access

  • Data processing agreements with all data processors

  • Regular security assessments and penetration testing

  • Comprehensive audit logs and monitoring

  • Data protection impact assessments

  • Clear data ownership and processing documentation

  • Appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect data

What if I have a unique situation not covered here?

Please contact our support team with the details of your situation. While our policies are designed to maintain data security, ownership clarity, and regulatory compliance, we understand that unique circumstances may arise.

Any exceptions must be documented and assessed for SOC2 and GDPR compliance before approval.
